This classic piece is called The Saracen Ring, as it is inspired by the chain mail armour of the Crusaders. It is evocative of Medieval times, African nomads, and the romance of the dunes. Each little ball (called a granulation) has to be carefully soldered on by hand one at a time and gives an overall flowing texture. It has a neo-tribal feel, both ancient and contemporary.
